OUR CALVADOS AND CIDERS

Faithful to the traditional methods of cider making, the Manoir d'Apreval produces ciders, Poirés, Calvados Pays d'Auge and Pommeau de Normandie.

Calvados
Calvados Blanche
"A Calvados especially designed for cocktails that will also please amateurs of young spirits. Tasty and original, it releases the bitter and fruity qualities of fresh apples."

Body: Clear pale gold.
Scent : very fruity aroma of fresh apples with hints of liquorice. Slight underlying smoky note.
Taste : Sharp and mellow taste with green apple aromas which gives a refreshing sensation and leads to spicy and sour notes.
Serving suggestions : In a cocktail : This Calvados is an excellent base for many cocktails, let your imagination guide you or ask for our cocktail ideas. As an aperitif : pure, served ice cold or on crushed ice. During a meal : pure, served ice cold on smoked or marinated fish (herring, salmon, eel). On crushed ice with chocolate puddings. As a "trou normand" (on apple sorbet between two dishes). For cooking : for flaming or in sorbets and pastries. After dinner : pure or in a cup of coffee.
Specificity : A Blend of 2 to 3 year old Calvados that is perfect to create original and tasty cocktails.


Our Calvados AOC Pays d'Auge

Calvados Reserve
"A Calvados that reveals a certain mellowness still influenced by the refreshing and fruity hints from its youth."

Body: Golden, clear and shiny with amber tones.
Scent : Smooth sensation with aromas of ripe apples and vanilla.
Taste : Strong and fruity flavour of cooked apples, vanilla and caramel with a hint of lemon and woody flavours.
Serving suggestions : As an aperitif served on ice or after dinner at room temperature.
Specificity : Blend of 4 to 6 year old Calvados Pays d'Auge.


Calvados Grande Reserve
"A Calvados with a great sensation of sweet spices and vanilla through which one can feel the tranquility of ageing that gives it its roundness."

Body: Golden, clear and shiny with amber reflections.
Scent : roundness sensation, mixed aromas of hazelnut, praline and honey.
Taste : smooth flavour of candied apples and vanilla, followed by a spicy consistency and a delicate finish.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature.
Specificity : Blend of 10 to 12 year old Calvados Pays d'Auge.


Calvados XO
"A prestigious Calvados that reveals a candied and woody character born from a complex blend of 5 different distillations."

Body: Deep golden colour with coppered reflections, shiny and clear.
Scent : Pleasurable aromas of baked apples, brown sugar, vanilla and warm spices.
Taste : Intense spicy and woody combination with a round, soft finish.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature.
Specificity : Blend of 15 to 20 year old Calvados Pays d'Auge.

Calvados Vintage 1989
"A Calvados that has been at rest for over 21 years, it was chosen as a vintage for its unique character and its smooth and floral balance."

Body: Dark gold with coppered reflections, shiny and clear.
Scent : bitter orange aroma with a spicy hint and milky caramel.
Taste : Fluid, vanilla aromas and sweet spices.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature.
Specificity : This Calvados is a vintage, made exclusively from the distillation of 1989.


Calvados Vintage 1980
"A Calvados chosen in its decade for its powerful character and long-lasting taste."

Body: Dark gold with coppered reflections, shiny and clear.
Scent : aromas of citrus fruit and toasted almonds.
Taste : Fluid, persistent taste, woody, bitter chocolate aromas.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature.
Specificity : This Calvados is a vintage, made exclusively from the distillation of 1980.


Calvados Cuvée Victor 30+ years
"A Calvados to the memory of the great grand father, marked by casks of various origins that make it unique"

Body: Dark gold with coppered reflections, clear and shiny.
Scent : floral and vegetal aromas followed by a development of animal and game aromas.
Taste : A very powerful taste dominated by candied apple and vanilla aromas with a liquorice finish. Very persistent.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature.
Specificity : Blend of Calvados Pays d'Auge over 30 years old.


Calvados Cuvée Gustave 40+ years
"A Calvados with a tough and tender character that goes very well with the toasted notes of a cigar."

Body: Dark gold with coppered reflections, clear and shiny.
Scent : First aromas are floral with a hint of citrus fruit followed by baked apples and a spicy touch.
Taste : Smooth and persistent with baked apple and caramel aromas. A bitter chocolate and dried fruit finish

Specificity : Blend of Calvados Pays d'Auge over 40 years old.


Cask Strength Calvados 40 + years, 51 % vol.

Body: Shiny and clear with a strong mahogany colour.
Scent : A great aromatic intensity given by its tobacco, liquorice, animal and spicy aromas
Taste : Intense and powerful with aromas of liquorice, tobacco and spices.
Serving suggestion : By itself at room temperature. Makes a good companion for a nice cigar.
Specificity : Blend of Calvados AOC Pays d'Auge distilled before 1967 and never reduced.
